Perchloric fume hood protection and treatment

2.1 Operation precautions: Please pay attention the fume hood need to be operated with the air exhaust. The operation should be as mechanized and automated as possible. Operators must undergo special training and strictly abide by operating procedures. It is recommended that operators wear filtering gas masks (full face masks) or self-contained breathing apparatus, polyethylene gas protective clothing, and rubber gloves. Keep away from fire and heat sources. Smoking is strictly prohibited in the workplace. Prevent vapors from leaking into the workplace air. Avoid contact with acids, alkalis, and amines. Be particularly careful to avoid contact with water. When handling, load and unload with care to prevent damage to packaging and containers. Vibration, impact and friction are prohibited. Equipped with corresponding varieties and quantities of fire-fighting equipment and leakage emergency treatment equipment. Empty containers may be harmful residues. When diluting or preparing solutions, acid should be added to water to avoid boiling and splashing. 2.2 Circulating water dilution system: During experiments conducted in a perchloric acid fume hood, there may be an aerosol release process of perchloric acid, so the fume hood needs to be exhausted under rated large air volume exhaust conditions. The design value is 1300CMH. The alkaline water behind the cabinet deflector can be mixed with the acid ,and the chemical reaction is: HClO4+NaOH====NaClO4+H2O The neutralized product is a neutral product with a pH value between 7 and 14, so the circulation treatment system designed is made of chemically resistant materials. 2.3 A buffer tank is set up at the lower part of the fume hood, and the outlet side is connected to a PP water pump. The water pump is connected to the atomization pipe which is behind the deflector. The water pump outputs the alkali solution to the atomization pipe in the form of medium pressure, and passes through the atomization pipe into fine water droplets. The product is mixed and contacted
